Privacy Policy
Effective October 14, 2026
Brand Deal Review is a service of Zebulon Chandler Entertainment Law (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect through branddealreview.com, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. If you become a client, the confidentiality duties lawyers owe their clients also apply to your information, and they are stricter than this policy.
What we collect
- Free guide sign-ups: your email address. Our email service also records whether you open or click our emails.
- Review requests (conflicts check): your name, email, creator name or handles, your manager or agency, the brand, its parent company and agency, and the date you need to sign.
- If you become a client: the agreement you send us, related documents, and our communications with you.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We see your name, email, the amount and whether the payment went through. We never see or store your full card number.
- Technical information: our web host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and troubleshooting. Our sign-up records keep a one-way scrambled code made from your IP address and the date, used only to spot spam. This site does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics. Stripe may set its own cookies on its payment page.
How we use it
- To send the guide you asked for and occasional emails about brand deals and our services. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To run a conflicts check before we take on a review. Lawyers are required to do this.
- To provide the legal services you engage us for, bill for them, and keep the records our professional rules require.
- To keep the site secure and working.
Conflicts records. The names you give us in a review request are kept in our conflicts records even if we don't end up taking your review, because we need them to check future conflicts. Please give us names only at that stage, not the contract or deal terms.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your information or share it for others' advertising. We share it only with:
- Service providers that run parts of the service for us: our web host (Bluehost), our email service (Kit), our payment processor (Stripe) and our email and document storage providers. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.
- Others when the law requires it, such as a valid court order, or to protect our rights. Client information is shared only as the Georgia Rules of Professional Conduct allow.
How long we keep it
- Guide sign-ups: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. After that we keep only what's needed to honor the unsubscribe.
- Conflicts records: as long as we practice law, as conflicts checks require.
- Client files: six years after the engagement ends, then securely destroyed, unless the law or a pending matter requires longer.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from our emails at any time with the link in any email.
- Ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing zeb@branddealreview.com. We'll do so unless our professional or legal obligations require us to keep it (for example, conflicts records and client files), and we'll tell you if that's the case.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state's privacy law. We'll honor them as that law requires.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), keep sign-up and conflicts records outside the public part of our server, and limit access to the attorney and staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't email us anything sensitive we haven't asked for.
Age
Our services are for people 18 and older. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must contact us and take part in any engagement.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date. Significant changes will also be announced on the site.
